Parents Information
Please help us to keep all children who use the school safe, healthy and happy by observing these simple requirements.
At the end of the day when collecting your children please help us to ensure their safety by :-
1) Being Patient
2) Not crowding around the classroom door . Please stand back from the door a little bit so that the teachers can see everyone, and the children can get out.
3) Not leaning into the classroom and calling your child. The children have been instructed to wait for the teacher to call their name
4) Waiting - If you wish to speak to the teacher about anything, please do not push to the front - wait until the other children have gone, and the teacher will then be able to give you their full attention
The school subscribes to Schoolscomm a service which allows us to send a text message to every parents mobile phone in the event of an emergency or when a schoolwide announcement needs to be made urgently. In order that you receive these important messages please make sure that the contact details which we hold in the school office are always up to date - especially that mobile phone number !!!
While the school takes due care to ensure the safety of your children the school is not responsible for the actions of your children until they are admitted into the classrooms at 08:50 -
parents who arrive early with their children must ensure that the behaviour of their children does not endanger their own or other childrens safety until school starts.
School starts at 8:50 (8:40/12:30 for Nursery) Miss Lacey is now making lots more referrals to our Education Welfare Officer, regarding children with persistent lateness and poor attendance.
Classroom doors are opened 5 minutes early to ease the rush and are locked at starting time and parents arriving with pupils after that must sign them in at the school office.
Children are expected to come in school uniform every day. School colours are red and grey. School sweatshirts are on sale from the office at £7:50 - otherwise a plain red jumper or cardigan may be worn with grey trousers, skirt or pinafore dress, and a white shirt or blouse.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make sure that EVERYTHING your child brings into school is named - all clothes, PE kits, purses, lunch boxes and book bags. With over 350 children in school
it is very difficult to return belongings that do not have a name on them.
The whole school is a non-smoking zone, this includes the car park and footpaths - as soon as you pass through the tall red gates you are on school property.
Please do not bring dogs (even very small ones) onto the school site.
Would parents who find it necessary to bring bicycles into school please walk them in the playground, and not carry young children on the handlebars. Riding presents a real danger to all the other
children in the playground.
There still seems to be a problem with parents using bad language in front of children, this is not acceptable and we ask that parents give thought to how they speak to other people in and around the
playgrounds.
Parking in the vicinity of the school continues to be a problem, this is entirely due to parents driving and parking in a thoughtless way. Parents should be aware that the council are now
enforcing the ‘Keep Clear’ and yellow lines outside the gates and if caught parents could receive a £100 fine.
Now that the automatic gates at the top of the school drive are fully functional, parents will no longer be able to drive into the car park at any time of day unless in an emergency. We
trust that everyone will appreciate that this has been done in the interest of you and your childrens safety, and will co-operate fully. If you do happen to be in the car park after 3:10pm
please stay stationary in your car until 3:25, it is very dangerous to move up the drive through crowds of people.
Would all parents and others who come into the school note that all outside areas of the school are monitored and recorded by closed circuit television (CCTV) for 24 hours every day - if you are within the school boundary you are being recorded.
