Year 2
Year 2 classes are Green, Purple and Pink
Welcome to Year 2.
Year 2 has a more structured learning environment, where we move your child forward to becoming an independent learner. Each day children participate in a Literacy and Maths session where the outcomes are differentiated to meet the needs of the individual. We have high expectations of children’s behaviour and learning and we value your support. The children are assessed regularly in all aspects of learning and Key Stage 1 assessments take place at the end of the year.
Our Topics include Fairyland/Joyning the Learning, Putting on a Play, Country Topic, Rainforests and Animals (See topic web)
Homework will be sent out every Friday and will need to be returned by the following Friday.
Please can you make sure your child's clothes are all named including a PE kit of shorts and a t-shirt. Children do not need plimsolls until the Summer Term as they complete PE barefoot in the hall. Our PE days are:
Pink Class: Tuesday and Friday
Purple Class: Tuesday and Friday
Green Class: Monday and Wednesday
Please make sure children are wearing no jewellery on these days or they will be unable to participate in PE.
Year 2 Christmas 2009All classes present a combined festive play in December and individual class assemblies in the summer. Parents are very welcome to attend these events.
The school produces DVDs of all these events which are available for all parents to purchase so that the children’s school time events can be remembered and shown to grandparents and friends.
